What They Say

"The second to last band were in fact the final band to have the word ‘the’ in their band name and were in fact The Trip Down Project. When they started up I had to get up on a chair at the back to double check that the intense tsunami of noise that was being produced was being produced was by just two guys, Jojo and Shrap. Guitar and drums were more than sufficient to batter the place. Even from the back it was raw and then the closer I got to the front the more brutal it was seeming. A load of their own committed fans were responding by pounding the hell out of the dance floor and having a good time."

The second band to take to the stage was Trip Down Project a duo of Guitar and Drums. But that’s were the resemblance to the White Stripes stopped. Due to the fact this drummer could really play. In fact it’s one of the great joys of going to gigs is that every now and then you change upon real gems. The Trip Down Project was one such band. Possessed with the spirit of Seattle and Detroit they rocked the place to the core. And the crowd was very much aware that were been treated to something special. With songs like ‘Raise the Dead’ they show to power and grace. The driving drums and groove driven guitar carried all before them. It’s not often you find a band which has an entire set made up classic sounding songs. This was apparently only their fourth gig to date as a duo but they seem to have struck gold with the set up so far. They rounded things of with Kings of Leon’s Molly Chambers which brought the house. Personally I can’t wait to see them again. So my tip is for you to keep an eye out for these guys because you’ll miss them at your peril.
